Just found a great article over at Yaro Starak’s blog.

Yaro writes a great piece on the difference between a report blogger - someone who just reports on what they read, and re-interpret it (yes thats me! - and its what im doing now) and trying to make the move to becoming an expert.

I think this is a journey and a path a lot of bloggers starting out follow, they begin by reporting on something, start to learn a lot about the industry (primarily internet marketing in this case), and then move to ‘expert’ status.. whether this is self proclaimed expert status or not i’ll leave to you to decide.. but its a path worth traveling.

I guess the key to making the move from reporter to expert is finding a ‘niche’, or something you are really passionate about. As Yaro mentions, everyone is an expert in their own right on many subjects, they just don’t know it yet, or know how to convey it properly. Or maybe it is that they think ‘.. oh if I write about what they are writing about, i’ll be as successful as they are!..’ not entirely true, you need an edge, something different, a bit of personality, a bit of something you can’t find anywhere else.

Find that something, write about it.. and wallah.. your rich! .. right?
